prignitzer Small railway museum Lindenberg

Once upon a time, a narrow-gauge railway network over 100 kilometres long connected the major towns of Prignitz to transport agricultural produce from the region and enable the inhabitants of the villages to travel. By 1971, all lines were gradually closed and transport was shifted to the roads. Since 1993, a museum at the former Lindenberg junction has commemorated the history of the railway. In addition, since 2007, a nine-kilometre section of the line from Lindenberg to Pritzwalk can once again be travelled in faithfully restored passenger carriages. A particular highlight is the use of steam locomotives every year during Ascension Week. The museum and the narrow-gauge railway are run by volunteers from the association.
The "Pollo", as the railway used to be affectionately called by the locals, can also be booked for private parties and events for up to 100 people. The association is also a branch of the Pritzwalk registry office, meaning that civil weddings can be held on the train.
