, 2002

Of the seven manor houses owned by the Gans Edlen Herren zu Putlitz family until 1945, Wolfshagen was the most significant. In 2002, it was set up as palace museum in which the world of a noble Margraviate estate is presented. This was made possible due to the many loans from established families from the Prignitz region: Gans zu Putlitz, von Winterfeld, von Platen, von Saldern, Count Königsmarck and their own family collections. The magazine "Monumente" by the German Foundation Monument Conservation reported on it. Soon after, an elderly woman from Bavaria called on the telephone: "You are setting up Wolfshagen again? I could donate something, a small goose made of silver!" The goose (German: Gans) was the crest animal of the Gans family, with a small crown and designed as salt bowl. The lady's father had been an officer in Perleberg and was a hunting associate of Baron Albrecht zu Putlitz at Wolfshagen. He presented him with this goose bowl with a dedication from 1909. It is now presented in Wolfshagen in the dining room along with tableware, glasses and silver from the Gans zu Putlitz family. All visitors are happy to see that it returned to the place from where it departed a long time ago.
